Earth of balance and contrast, several times the capital of France, The Touraine doleful land cross by the wild Loire, will amaze you and surprise you, through its landscape and its villages. Sometimes, behind a glen you may believe be back in the past, and you will wait to see appear one of these illustrious characters who have so beautifully shaped our land. At the crossroads of angevines and poitevines influences, you'll love the varied architecture of our monuments.

You will cross the road of Joan of Arc, Leonardo da Vinvi, Charles VII. Besides our famous castles, you will visit the homes of Balzac, Ronsard, Rabelais whose name has become in itself a tribute to the art of eating and drinking. Also, the visit would not be complete without mentioning the food. Addition the famous goat cheese of Sainte-Maure, we can not ignore the rillons, the Touraine's géline, the coq au vin, dishes that are inconceivable and incomplete without local wines that accompany them so well : Chinon, St Nicolas de Bourgueil, Saumur-Champigny, Vouvray.

If the past is always present in the environment with for example the cave dewellings in Saumurois, our time has left its mark through various things such as Futuroscope's park (near Poitiers) dedicated to image and technology in all sorts of ways.
